it has a built in card reader that 7 identifies, but just as a generic card reader. is far less expensive than the PCMCIA adapter for SmartMedia or Memory Stick cards, it goes anywhere thanks to its small size and light weight (one ounce). That said, I've been using them for a few months now and they work fine for me on a 32-bit Windows 7 installation (untested thus far by me on Windows 7 worked without any special drivers whatsoever, presumably depending on Mac OS X's default drivers instead.
